State Representative Candidate Forum, House District 7
Saturday, February 27, 2010 - 10:30am - 12:30pm
The Democratic Party of Denver’s leadership team from House District 7 and the Denver Young Democrats are excited to announce a public forum on February 27th for Democratic candidates seeking election to office as State Representative from House District 7. The forum will take place at the Montbello Recreation Center and will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Representative and Speaker of the House Terrance Carroll is completing his final term in the seat and cannot seek reelection due to term limits. Five Democratic candidates have entered the primary race to succeed Carroll, and all five candidates seeking the seat have confirmed that they will attend the event. The candidates are Jon Goldin-Dubois, Russell Green, Blake Harrison, Mark Mehringer, and Angela Williams.
Candidates will briefly introduce themselves, address specific topics, and field questions from the audience. The forum will be moderated by Michael Johnston, Colorado State Senator in Senate District 33.
Spanish Language simultaneous interpreters will be available through the use of wireless electronic headsets. This is believed to be the first time that full Spanish translation will be available for such an event.
Voters will have their first chance to participate in the process of choosing their next representative at the Democratic Precinct Caucuses to be held March 16, 2010 at 7 p.m. Registered Democrats attending their Precinct Caucus will have the opportunity to be selected as delegates to attend the Denver County Assembly on April 10th and the State Assembly on May 22nd. Information on specific Precinct Caucus locations is posted at www.denverdemocrats.net.
